BBI PASSES THE THIRD READING

Kenyan Parliament 

The Parliament today they have passed the constitution of Kenya amendment bill 2020 or the  #BBIBill. The next step will be to go to the president. But since it's a popular initiative with or without parliament approval still, it would have gone to the referendum. 

However, seven petitions were merged into one and no one knows how long it would take in courts. The IEBC is halted from doing any referendum preparations by the courts pending hearing and determination.

If the court rules in favor of the petitioners we may not have the referendum, but if it is otherwise we shall have a referendum around July or August.

Whichever way it plays out it is important to know that the final decision will be made on the ballot.
